Gabrielle Ducomble appeared in Peppers in 2016 and we are delighted to welcome her back to appear in this year's Jazz & Blues festival.  This time she is playing in Theatr Gwaun and we can guarantee a very special performance.  Playing with Gabrielle are Nicolas Meier on guitar, Karen Street on accordion, Nick Kacal on bass and Saleem Raman on drums.
Now a firm favourite in her adopted UK, talented vocalist Gabrielle Ducomble brings a special blend of Gallic charm and sophistication to the British jazz scene.  Singing in English and her native French, Gabrielle performs Parisian-style jazz and tango, putting a contemporary spin on songs by Edith Piaf, Jacques Brel, Serge Gainsbourg and Astor Piazzolla, plus her own original material. Her band, including some of Europe’s finest musicians in an authentic line-up of guitar, violin and accordion, provides the perfect anchor for her superlative vocals.
Gabrielle has performed at top London venues, from intimate jazz clubs to concert halls. She sang with the Aurora Orchestra at the Royal Festival Hall – Southbank Centre as part of 2013’s The Rest Is Noise festival, has performed at Ronnie Scott’s, The Royal Albert Hall, Pizza Express in Soho and Hideaway. In 2014 she starred at the St James Theatre as part of its Jazz Diva series alongside Jacqui Dankworth and Tina May and in 2015 and this year 2017 she has joined the program of the EFG London Jazz Festival.
‘An astonishingly beautiful voice’ – Emma Freud, BBC Radio 4 Loose Ends

Gabrielle will be supported by an old favourite at Aberjazz, Dale Storr, a remarkably talented New Orleans Jazz piano player.
