John Otway is an English singer-songwriter who has built a sizeable cult audience through extensive touring, a surreal sense of humour and a self-deprecating underdog persona.

He almost literally exploded on to the punk scene in 1977 with a notorious performance on the Old Grey Whistle Test, (an event which is now immortalised on YouTube) which catapulted him to fame and gave him a hit, Really Free reaching 27 in the UK Singles Charts. This remained his one and only hit until 2002 when his fans clubbed together and gave him a second hit with Bunsen Burner in 2002 as a birthday present.

The last time we saw Andy Twyman at Aberjazz he impressed us with his prowess on a wide range of instruments including, guitar, drums, harmonica and even the chicken.

His highly entertaining performance has been seen at festivals all over the country including Glastonbury, Beautiful days and of course Aberjazz.
