GARETH PEARSON is back again in Fishguard on 17th July, this time you have the opportunity of joining him in a guitar workshop with local guitarist Gerwyn Evans starting the session with a flat picking workshop followed by Gareth's own workshop. The workshops will be followed with a jam. In the evening there will be an open mic session followed by Gareth's concert. If you haven't seen him then this is a chance not to be missed. Acoustic said of Gareth in Oct 2008 that he "is no average guitar player. He has developed a distinctive style and execution to his playing that has earned him the Tudor Rhythm Kingsgreatest of accolades from World renowned players. In less than five years, he has grown from a relatively unknown guitar appreciator into a fully fledged professional who now performs in many parts of the World. With influences such as Chet Atkins, Tommy Emmanuel and Merle Travis, Gareth’s arsenal of techniques represents a broad gamut to be entertained by, even if one cannot see his fingers move as they dance with such fluidity. These opinions of popularity are beginning to grow further as guitar greats including Jan Akkerman and Tommy Emmanuel have invited and requested Gareth’s company on tour. Add to this his characteristic vocal signatures and you have one of the World’s most developed new guitar players that has truly blossomed”. Since then Gareth has got better!

DALE STORR accompanied by Ian Sanderson on trumpet - Blues Matters describes Dale as "A tour-de-force of Rockin' New Orleans Piano". Dale's musical journey has taken him from his rural Lincolnshire upbringing to his own musical mecca, New Orleans. He has played with British blues exponents like Alan Nimmo of the Nimmo Brothers and Kevin Thorpe, 60's icon Dave Berry, American soul star Earl Thomas, Texas guitar legend Rocky Athas (Black Oak Arkansas), and US R&B giant Dale StorrEugene 'Hideaway' Bridges. The evocative music of New Orleans became a passion for the young musician who immersed himself into the styles of other heroes like Professor Longhair, Dr.John, Allen Toussaint, Tuts Washington and James Booker. The latter has been a particular source of inspiration and resulted in Dale studying the sometimes complex technique of this legendary pianist/singer. Dale's ambition has always been to play the music of New Orleans, which can be anything from a classically influenced minuet, a latin rumba, a back o' town junker blues to a frenzied boogie woogie.
